Pricing

What does AI implementation cost?

It depends on the work, so we price it in stages, with a decision point after each. Here is every price we publish, and how the rest is agreed.

Published prices

Where every engagement can start.

All amounts are in US dollars.

Sophrono published prices
OfferPriceWhat it covers
Ask an engineerFreeA 15-minute call with a senior engineer that names the agentic systems that could fit your workflow, and the right first step.
AI Workload EvaluationFreeOne workload: whether AI applies to it, and the sensible next step.
Data exposure reviewFreeFifteen minutes on the AI tools and vendors that receive your data, and the gaps to close first.
Auspex Diagnostic$750One hour of agent coding, the code it produces, an Agentic AI Blueprint, and a one-hour consultation.
Senior engineering$375 an hourHourly work where the scope is expected to evolve.

How the rest is priced.

Each service states its pricing basis. The amount is agreed before work begins, once the scope and acceptance criteria are set.

Step by step

You buy one decision at a time.

Each step ends with a decision, and the next is priced before you commit. You can end the engagement at any step.

  1. 01A free conversationFreeAsk an engineer anything, or bring one workload. You hear which agentic systems could fit, and the right next step.
  2. 02One workflow in code$750The Diagnostic: one hour of agent coding, the code, an Agentic AI Blueprint, and a one-hour consultation. You sign an engagement letter first.
  3. 03The work the evidence calls forFixed price or hourlyA System Blueprint, a Production Pilot, or a full build. Scope, terms, and acceptance criteria are agreed before work begins.
  4. 04Ongoing carePer sprint or agreed scopeIteration Sprints improve one agreed metric at a time. AI Stewardship keeps the system measured and current, with people approving each release.

Start at whichever step fits. Each one is its own decision, and none requires another.

What drives cost

Six things set the price of a build.

  • How many workflows are in scope, and how they connect
  • The systems the work must read from and write to
  • How ready your data is, and whether its rights are clear
  • The acceptance criteria, and the testing they require
  • Where it runs: your cloud, a hybrid setup, or your own hardware
  • The care it needs after launch: sprints, stewardship, or your own team

Agreed separately

Costs that sit outside a build price.

These are named in the scope, so none of them arrives as a surprise.

Hardware

Always itemized separately. You buy the equipment and own it.

Model usage and hosting

How usage and hosting are billed is agreed in the scope of each engagement.

Work after launch

Iteration Sprints and AI Stewardship are priced on their own, once the system is live.

Changes to the scope

Each change is assessed for its effect on fees, and your owner approves it before work proceeds.

Getting the most from each stage

Five choices that keep the price clear.

  1. Start with one bounded workflowA narrow first scope gives a firm price and evidence you can use for the next decision.
  2. Bring real examplesRepresentative cases, including the awkward ones, make the acceptance tests meaningful from the start.
  3. Name one ownerA person who can decide and approve keeps the work moving and the scope settled.
  4. Agree the criteria earlyAcceptance criteria set before the build are what make a fixed price possible.
  5. Use the smallest model that clears the barModel choice is measured task by task, so you pay for the capability the work needs.

The measure

Cost per accepted outcome.

Total engagement cost, divided by the outcomes accepted under the criteria you signed. It keeps the conversation on results you can check, not on hours spent.

Fixed price

One fee for an agreed scope, checked against acceptance criteria you approve before the build.

Hourly engineering

Senior engineering at $375 an hour, for work that will change as it goes, with scope and reporting agreed up front.

How we engage

Full engagement terms are finalized in a Master Services Agreement.

Questions

Why not publish a price for every service?

Each build depends on your systems, your data, and the acceptance criteria you set. The Diagnostic and the System Blueprint turn those unknowns into a price before you commit.

Can we start small?

Yes. Ask an engineer and the workload evaluation are free, and the Diagnostic is a fixed $750.

Are hardware and model costs included?

Hardware is always itemized separately, and you own what you buy. How model usage and hosting are billed is agreed in the scope of each engagement.

Do you publish AI Stewardship prices?

Not yet. Stewardship scope and capacity are agreed for each system, so each plan is priced to its coverage.

Do we have to buy every stage?

No. Each stage is priced and decided on its own. Start at the stage that matches where you are, and end the engagement between any two.

How long does a build take?

It depends on the scope. The Blueprint or pilot proposal states the schedule alongside the price, before you commit.

How do you price a fixed-price build?

Against the signed Acceptance Charter. The scope, what sits outside it, and the basis of the price are written down before work begins.

How are payments and terms handled?

Payment terms are set for each engagement. Full engagement terms are finalized in a Master Services Agreement.

Know the price before you commit.
